A note from Ramona

From My Desk

This has been a season of early mornings and long drives across Jefferson and Chambers Counties — knocking doors, setting up folding tables at candidate forums, and getting to know the volunteers who make this work possible.

Before I built my first campaign spreadsheet, I spent twenty years teaching theater and film to middle schoolers here in Beaumont, and thirty-five years running small businesses in this community — sign and graphics design, event production, and a bit of hospitality along the way. Those years taught me that people show up when they trust the people asking them to.

That is what this coordinated campaign is about: building trust one conversation, one forum, and one Tuesday night meeting at a time, so every candidate on our ballot — and every voter behind them — has a real shot in November.

Where the work is focused

Priorities for CD36

Voter Registration & Turnout

Every unregistered neighbor is a conversation we haven't had yet. Coordinated block-walking, phone banking, and registration drives across Jefferson and Chambers Counties, aimed at every contested race on the ballot.

Supporting Local Candidates

From county clerk to the state legislature, our down-ballot candidates need real infrastructure — campaign materials, forums, and a coordinated GOTV push that lifts the whole ticket.

Small Business & Working Families

Thirty-five years running small businesses here taught me what local families actually need: fair rules, real investment, and elected officials who understand Main Street, not just Austin or Wall Street.

Civic Education & History

Southeast Texas has a rich, complicated political history. Understanding it — and teaching it — is part of building a party organization that lasts beyond a single election cycle.
